Media Guardian Story

The London 2012 Olympics proved to be digital gold for the BBC, with a record-breaking 200m viewing requests for shows on the iPlayer in August.
In my opinion, I believe that the Olympics over the summer that were held in London, was something that London has used to its advantage and therefore strengthened its economy. The BBC iplayer application has been accessed more than 200 million views simply for catch-up TV for the running of the Olympics. Without this advance in technology and media, half of the country would not be able to see this and this has been beneficial to the whole country.
